MCPS Release External Review Findings Following Damascus High Sexual Assault

The October 2018 sexual assault that took place in the boys’ locker room at Damascus High School led MCPS to take immediate steps to enhance the safety and security of students, especially those participating in athletic and extracurricular programs.

Monday morning, Montgomery County superintendent of schools Jack Smith sent out a letter to the MCPS community revealing the findings from an external review of after-school supervision at high schools throughout the county.

MCM will have a complete report later today on Smith’s news conference discussing the findings.
