Capitals Name Olympian, Rockville Native Skarupa as Hockey Ambassador
The Washington Capitals named Wootton High School graduate Haley Skarupa as their new hockey ambassador this week. Skarupa, a Rockville native who helped the U.S. women’s national hockey team win a gold medal at the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games, will assist the Capitals in developing and engaging with the youth hockey communities across the DMV region.

“I’m extremely excited to join the Capitals organization,’ Skarupa said. “I grew up playing hockey in the area so the opportunity to come back and develop the game around the region is incredibly special.”
