Independence Day Closings Around the County

Here’s an overview of what’s open what’s closed in Montgomery County this Independence Day:

County Offices – closed

Libraries – closed

DLC Liquor & Wine Stores (DLC) – all stores will be open 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Recreation – aquatics programs open, aquatics facilities open until 6 p.m., except the Germantown Indoor Swim Center, which will close at 3 p.m.  All recreation centers, senior centers and administrative offices are closed.

Montgomery Parks – for special programs, events and operating schedule, including Brookside Gardens, ice rinks and tennis centers, visit www.MontgomeryParks.org

Ride On – operates on a Saturday schedule.

Metrorail and Metrobus – Information available on the WMATA website.

TRiPS Commuter Store at Silver Spring Transit Center – open from 10 a.m. to 6/30 p.m.

TRiPS Mobile Commuter Store – closed

County Refuse/recycling pickup – no collection. Collection will slide by one day after the holiday with the last pickup taking place on Saturday.  For information on the schedule go to https://www.montgomerycountymd.gov/sws/holidays/

The Shady Grove Processing Facility and Transfer Station –  entire facility closed

Parking at public garages, lots, curbside meters – free

State offices and courts – closed
