Severe Thunderstorm Watch Issued for Montgomery County

Montgomery County is under a severe thunderstorm watch until 10 p.m. Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.

Thunderstorms with large hail and damaging winds are possible. Residents with outdoor plans should remain alert for threatening severe weather. More info:

Besides Montgomery County, the watch includes Washington, D.C., and Baltimore city; and Anne Arundel, Howard, Prince George’s, Baltimore, Harford, Calvert, Charles and St. Mary’s counties. It also includes central and Northern Virginia.

A severe thunderstorm watch means the conditions are favorable for the development of severed thunderstorms capable of producing tornadoes. A severe thunderstorm warning means a storm has developed.
