NWS Issues Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Portions of Montgomery County

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a severe thunderstorm warning from now until 3 p.m. for portions of Montgomery County, including Germantown, Rockville, Bethesda, Gaithersburg, Olney, Damascus, Poolesville and Silver Spring.

Winds may gust up to 60 mph and there is the possibility of hail about the size of a penny. Winds will cause some large branches and trees to fall. Roads may become blocked by downed trees. Power outages are possible.
