MLK Indoor Pool Will Be Closed For the Summer
Martin Luther King Jr. Indoor Pool in Silver Spring will close for mechanical work on May 20.
During the closure, the pool filters will be upgraded in the facilities. According to a press release from the county, MLK Indoor will “reopen in early September.”
Robin Riley, the director for Montgomery County Recreation, released a statement on the closure.
“While there is never a good time to close one of our facilities, this project was schedule[d] to coincide with the summer opening of Montgomery County’s seven outdoor pools,” said Riley.
MLK Outdoor Pool will remain open throughout the summer, Riley said.
Anyone who owns an annual pool pass can choose to suspend their pass or use it at another county aquatic facility.
