Piringer tweeted that witnesses said that “a passing truck hit a large (overhanging) tree branch which broke off & struck a pedestrian walking on the sidewalk.” However, Officer Rick Goodale from Montgomery County Police called this “third-hand information.”
Goodale said that the police have found no evidence of a vehicle striking the tree and he said that “police are not investigating anything criminal.”
Because of the accident, Piringer said that MCFRS transported the person to the hospital. The person now faces a “serious traumatic injury.”
