Press Conference Held for Racial Equity and Social Justice Initiative

Elected officials are working toward ensuring racial equity and social justice throughout Montgomery County. The launch of the county’s Racial Equity and Social Justice Policy was announced during a press conference Wednesday. The initiative is aimed at advancing fair and equitable outcomes for individuals and communities through government decision-making across all county-funded agencies.

Officials want input on this topic, and say a Racial Equity and Social Justice Community Engagement Toolkit was put together to help prepare the public for this conversation. It includes roles and responsibilities, a community conversations checklist, and a racial equity and social justice discussion guide.
