MVA Adding Staff, Hours to Ease REAL ID Burden
The Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration has added extra staff and hours at eight high-volume locations across the state to help motorists meet an Oct. 1, 2020, deadline to get federally-required REAL ID driver’s licenses or ID cards.
The Montgomery County location for the extra hours is in Walnut Hill, in Gaithersburg. The others are in Annapolis, Bel Air, Columbia, Glen Burnie, Largo, Parkville and Waldorf.
With the extra hours, the MVA has added more than 2,700 extra appointments a week. The extra hours will last till May 4.
REAL ID is a federal requirement that followed the Sept. 11 attacks. State identification that is compliant with REAL ID allows the holder to enter certain federal buildings.

She claimed in staff meeting that she was prepared for this real ID influx but she never hired enough people or actually customer agents salary is so low i.e 28000 year that no body wants to work for mva.
So best for customers, worst for employees, but who cares about employees,right?
