Glen Echo Park Offers Discounts and Free Activities for Furloughed Workers

Glen Echo Park Partnership for Arts and Culture is offering discounts and free activities to furloughed federal workers for the week of Jan. 21 through Jan. 27. The announcement came on Tuesday in a statement of support for federal workers.

The statement on the website says, “We know this is a difficult time for so many, including our National Park Service partners, and we want to extend our help.”

Free Activities at Glen Echo Park: Jan. 23 – Jan. 27

Wednesday, Jan. 23.

• Improvisation & Performance Creative Movement Class at the Hall of Mirrors Dance Studio from 10:45 a.m. until 12:15 p.m.

Thursday, Jan. 24

• Blues Dance at the Ballroom Backroom from 8:15 a.m. until 11:30 p.m.

Friday, Jan. 25

• Improvisation & Performance Creative Movement Class at the Hall of Mirrors Dance Studio from 10:45 a.m. until 12:15 p.m.
• Free admission to Glen Echo Park Aquarium from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m.

Saturday, Jan. 26

• Saturday Art Explorers Parent & Child Drop-in Art Studio at Candy Corner Studio from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.
• Tiny Tots Penguin’s Playground showing at the Puppet Co. Playhouse at 10 a.m.
• Free admission to Glen Echo Park Aquarium from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m.

Sunday, Jan. 27

• Free admission to Glen Echo Park Aquarium from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m.
• Beginners T’ai Chi Class at Hall of Mirrors Dance Studio from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m.
• Yoga for all levels at Hall of Mirrors Dance Studio from 6 p.m. until 7:17 p.m.
• Contra Dance in the Spanish Ballroom from 7 to 10:30 p.m.

• $5 discounted tickets to “The Velveteen Rabbit” at the Puppet Co. Playhouse at 11 a.m.
• $5 discounted tickets for Contra Dance at the Spanish Ballroom from 7:30 p.m. until 11:30 p.m.

Saturday, Jan. 27

• $5 discounted tickets to “The Velveteen Rabbit” at the Puppet Co. Playhouse at 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.
• $5 discounted tickets to Swing Dance at the Spanish Ballroom from 8 p.m. to 12 a.m.

Sunday, Jan. 27

• $5 discounted tickets to “The Velveteen Rabbit” at the Puppet Co. Playhouse at 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.
• $5 discounted tickets to Argentine Tango at the Ballroom Back Room from 6:30 until 11 p.m.
