Montgomery County Inaugural Ball Benefits Arts Programs
Montgomery County Executive’s Ball is set for Monday, Dec. 3 at the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel and Conference Center, 5701 Marinelli Road, North Bethesda.
In its 33rd year, this year’s Executive Ball also celebrates Monday’s inauguration of Marc Elrich as County Executive and the 19th Council.
The ball is a volunteer-run event, this year chaired by Montgomery County First Lady, Catherine Leggett, who is joined by co-chair Dottie Fitzgerald of Fitzgerald Auto Malls and Carol Trawick of the Jim and Carol Trawick Foundation.
The ball brings together politicians, the business community, philanthropists, and the arts and humanities community. Proceeds from the ball support arts education programming throughout the County.
Last year’s ball raised nearly $175,000. Funds were distributed to more than 80 arts and humanities organizations, from theaters, museums, and chorale groups to dance and literary programs. In addition, these funds were matched dollar for dollar, so organizations received just under $350,000 from the ball’s fundraising efforts.
