Tessier Trial Ends Before it Begins
The trial for the murder of Laura Wallen ended this morning as news broke of Tyler Tessier’s death. The man accused of killing Wallen was found hanging in his jail cell around 5 a.m. Efforts to resuscitate Tessier were unsuccessful.
Tessier was on trial for killing his pregnant girlfriend, Laura Wallen, a year ago. He was to appear in court Thursday morning.
At the Montgomery County Courthouse, Judge Michael Mason dismissed the jurors, saying, “There’s no easy way to tell you this, but the defendant was found dead in his jail cell at 5 this morning.”
As reporters waited for the family of Laura Wallen and the State’s Attorney to brief the media, one juror spoke about her reaction to the news:
