Police Release Surveillance Images in Connection with Bank Robberies

Montgomery County police have released surveillance images of a man wanted in connection for bank robberies that have occurred since March, a police statement said. Police hope someone can identify him.

The following bank robberies and attempted bank robbery were reported to MCP:

  • About 11 a.m. March 29, the man entered the Capital One Bank at 11241 Georgia Ave., Wheaton, and handed a note to the teller demanding money. The man obtained an undisclosed amount of cash and fled.
  • About 11:55 a.m. May 3, the man entered the BB&T Bank at 13350 New Hampshire Blvd. in the Colesville area and handed a note to the teller demanding money. The teller immediately called police and the man fled without obtaining any money.
  • About 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, the man entered the SunTrust Bank at 8510 Connecticut Ave., Chevy Chase, and handed a note to the teller demanding money. The suspect obtained an undisclosed amount of cash and fled.

Investigators also believe the same man is responsible for a July 10 bank robbery in Prince George’s County.

Anyone with information about the bank robberies is asked to call the Montgomery County Police Department – Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5100.

To be eligible for a reward, tipsters may call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477).  Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information provided to them that leads to an arrest or indictment.  Tipsters will remain anonymous.
