Montgomery College Rockville Campus to Host Salvadoran-American Festival

Montgomery County Executive Ike Leggett joined other state and local leaders on the Montgomery College Rockville Campus Monday to announce that the Ninth Annual Salvadoran-American Day Festival will be held at the college.

The free festival, hosted by the COTSA, will take place on Aug. 5 from 11 a.m. to 7 pm.

This year’s event will feature Salvadoran food, music by local and international bands, crafts, and various free screenings during the health fair sponsored by the county’s Latino Health Initiative.  Screenings will include cholesterol, blood pressure, and blood sugar.

Organizers said they are expecting a large crowd this year since Montgomery County is home to more than 60,000 Salvadorans.
