Woman Shot in Takoma Park by Man She Met on Social Media
A woman was shot Thursday night in Takoma Park after she met her assailant on a social media app, city police said.
The shooting occurred about 7:55 p.m. in the 8300 block of Flower Avenue in Takoma Park. The woman was taken to a local hospital where she has non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
After the two met, an alteration occurred, and the woman was shot, police said. Police would not reveal which app lead to the encounter.
The man has a medium complexion, wears glasses, thin build, short hair and 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 7 inches, police said. He was last seen wearing a white tank top and dark blue shorts and armed with a black and silver handgun.
