Norman’s Farm Market vendors expect people to come in droves for their fresh watermelon, peaches, corn and other local produce, they said.

Family-run since 1987, Norman’s Farm Market sells produce grown at their farm in Woodbine, MD and other farms within a 100-mile radius.

“This has become a nice household Montgomery County name,” said vendor Hannah Jacobs, who has worked there for three years.

“People don’t shy away because it’s a busy road,” she said of the stand located on Jones Mill Rd at East-West Hwy in Chevy Chase. On the contrary, she said more traffic on the roads means more customers at the market.

The Jones Mill stand is open from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. seven days a week through October 31. Starting in mid-June the stand will remain open until 7:00p.m.

Norman’s Farm Market has weekend roadside stands at Tilden and Westland middle schools in Bethesda, open from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Once the school year ends, these stands will open daily through Labor Day.
