Purple Line Update: Weekend Work on Elm Street

Purple Line construction continues and starting Saturday, May 5, pile drilling will begin at the Elm Street work zone at Wisconsin Avenue in Bethesda.

Trucks will be delivering concrete for the piles using their approved haul routes between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., according to a news release.

There are no lane closures or traffic impacts due to Purple Line construction in the Bethesda Chevy Chase zone but there are some anticipated for the Greater Lyttonsville Woodside zone.  Lane closures are scheduled for the Lyttonsville Place Bridge on Friday, May 4, between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. for overhead electrical work. The northbound right lane will be closed in the morning, and the southbound right lane will be closed in the afternoon.
