Washington Metropolitan Area Ranked Most Frugal by Coupons.com
Washington takes first place followed by Dallas.
Coupons.com released their annual ranking of America’s Most Frugal Cities Thursday. The Washington D.C. Metropolitan area takes top honors for the second year in a row, based on the Coupons.com Savings Index.
Coupons.com creates the Savings Index with data from parent company Quotient Technology Inc. The index counts coupon downloads through Coupons.com, its app and its thousands of partners.
Shoppers in the D.C. metropolitan area saved more than $39 million with coupons in 2017.
“America’s Most Frugal Cities list shines a light on cities where the shoppers make sure to stretch their budgets. Using coupons in the digital age is so easy there’s no reason not to take advantage of them. With little effort, people are saving hundreds of dollars every year,” Coupons.com said in a statement.

- Dallas-Ft. Worth
- Raleigh-Durham
- Charlotte
- Orlando
- Philadelphia
- Tampa-St. Petersburg
- Atlanta
- Nashville
- Cleveland-Akron
This year’s other top 25 frugal cities include: Boston, MA (#11); Miami/Fort Lauderdale, FL (#12); Virginia Beach, VA (#13); San Francisco, CA (#14); New York, NY (#15); Phoenix, AZ (#16); Indianapolis, IN (#17); Kansas City, MO (#18); Houston, TX (#19) Columbus, OH (#20); Las Vegas, NV (#21) Providence, RI (#22); St. Louis, MO (#23); Cincinnati, OH (#24); Pittsburgh, PA (#25).
