Police Investigating Assault of Ride On Bus Driver
A Ride On bus driver was assaulted and pepper-sprayed, and Montgomery County police detectives are releasing photos of the three alleged assailants in hopes the public can help identify them.
Three men boarded the Ride On bus on March 7 near Nicholson Lane and Nicholson Court in North Bethesda, a police statement released Monday said. The driver told police the men were disorderly and disturbing other passengers.
The driver asked the men to stop but the suspects ignored him and continued being disruptive, police said. The driver stopped the bus on Westlake Drive near Arizona Circle and told the men to leave the bus, police said.
As they left, one man spit on the driver, police said. The driver left the bus and was immediately assaulted, and pepper sprayed by one of the men, police said.
Fire and Rescue personnel responded and took the driver to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries.
Anyone who recognizes the men or who has information about the assault is urged to call the Bethesda Police District Investigative Section at 230-773-6710.
Anyone who wishes to remain anonymous can call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477). Tipsters are eligible of a reward of up to $10,000 for any information that leads to an arrest.
