Man Charged with Burglaries, Armed Robberies
A 27-year-old man with an unconfirmed address has been charged with committing a series of armed robberies and commercial burglaries in Derwood, Gaithersburg and Montgomery Village.
Police said Anthony Paul Mackie committed the robberies and burglaries between Dec. 2, 2017, and March 3.
Mackie was charged in connection with armed robberies and commercial burglaries:
- Dec. 2 and Dec. 25 burglaries of the Verizon store at 7250 Muncaster Road, Derwood.
- Jan. 23, robbery of the Redmill Beer and Wine store at 7248 Muncaster Mill Road. Mackie threatened an employee with a knife and obtained an undisclosed amount of cash.
- Feb. 6, attempted robbery of the B & B Beer & Wine store at 8403 Snouffer School Road. Mackie threatened an employee with a knife and fled without obtaining any cash.
- Feb. 7, Mackie robbed the 7-Eleven at 17701 Muncaster Road. Mackie threatened an employee with knife and obtained an undisclosed amount of cash and fled.
- Feb. 24, burglary of the Biscotti Restaurant at 7212 Muncaster Mill Road, Derwood.
- Feb. 27, burglary of the Redmill Beer and Wine store at 7248 Muncaster Mill Road, Derwood.
- Feb. 27, burglary of the Ferguson plumbing supply store at 19320 Woodfield Road, Gaithersburg.
- Feb. 27, burglary of the Kim Airpark Auto Repair at 7605 Airpark Road, Gaithersburg.
- Feb. 27, burglary of the Tony’s Corvette Shop at 7500 Rickenbacker Drive, Gaithersburg.
- Feb. 27, burglary of the Goshen Nails at 20215 Goshen Road, Montgomery Village.
- Feb. 27, burglary of the McDonald’s at 9100 Rothbury Road, Montgomery Village.
About 5:40 a.m. March 3, Montgomery Village police district officers arrested Mackie after they saw him try to burglarize the Redmill Beer and Wine store.
Mackie was taken to the Central Processing Unit where he was charged with armed robbery and burglary offenses. Mackie is being held without bail.
