Five Things to Know for Dec. 6 in Montgomery County
Here are five things to know for Wednesday, Dec. 6, in Montgomery County:
1. Bethesda Blast: Weather permitting, the Montgomery County Department of Transportation will conduct single controlled blasts beneath Rockville Pike (MD 355) near the Medical Center Metro Station, NIH, and the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center at Naval Support Activity Bethesda between 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
2. Speaker Series: The Montgomery Planning Department begins its winter speaker series titled, The Economic Future of the Suburbs: Infill, Commerce, Placemaking, with Adam Ducker, Managing Director and Director of Urban Real Estate for RCLCO in Bethesda. His presentation will offer an overview of suburban economic trends, then focus on infill and other types of housing.
3. Planning Meeting: The City of Gaithersburg’s planning commission is expected to discuss a final amendment for the Market Square Shopping Center site plans.

4.Energy and Air Quality Advisory Committee Meeting: The Energy and Air Quality Advisory Committee (EAQAC), charged with advising the Montgomery County Executive and Council on issues related to energy and air quality, will meet from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
5. Dinner with Santa: Kids will have the chance to tell Santa what’s on their Christmas list at the Chick-Fil-A in Kentlands from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
