Here are five things to know today, Nov. 30, in Montgomery County:

1. Planning Board Meeting: The Viva White Oak Project,  the Blairs Building and an amendment to the Travilah Square Preliminary Plan are on the planning board’s agenda for discussion.

2. Invent the Future Challenge Kick-off Event: This new public-private partnership brings together the County, MCPS, and KID Museum to make a long-term investment in student engagement with the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields.

3. Rockville Business Academy: Business owners and those interested in starting a business in the city of Rockille will have the opportunity to learn more about how the city operates and what it has to offer through the 2017 Rockville Business Academy.

4. Alert Montgomery- An update to Alert Montgomery and other public notifications will be discussed during the County Council’s Public Safety Committee meeting.

5. Creating Art Ornaments with LED light Bulbs: Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection will host an afternoon of craftsmanship to teach residents how to create ornaments with LED light bulbs.
