Pedestrian Safety Concerns (Video)
The Maryland State Highway Administration is currently studying the intersection of Great Seneca Highway and Orchard Ridge Drive/Kentlands Boulevard in Gaithersburg to determine if any improvements can be made to make it safer. The review comes after the local community raised concerns with city, county and state officials after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle while trying to cross the busy road. The pedestrian was on her way to work at nearby MedImmune. MCM’s Sonya Burke reports that police have also launched an education and enforcement initiative at the busy intersection.
