UPDATE: Greenberger Begins New Role in County Government

After serving more than a decade as the legislative officer for the Montgomery County Council, Neil Greenberger transferred to his new role in the Public Information Office of the County Executive on Monday.

This change comes amid Greenberger’s announcement to run for an at-large seat on the County Council back in June. He requested a voluntary transfer to a different position in County Government to avoid any conflicts between his campaigning activities and his responsibilities as the legislative information officer.

His new position involves primarily working on the Wheaton Revitalization Project  and monitoring the impact the construction of this project could have on businesses and the community.

“I think it’s really exciting to put me in a place to help make a difference for the things that are important,” he said.

Greenberger said he believes the new position is a great fit because of his experience working with City of Rockville officials during the transformation of city parking lots back in 2004.

Sonya Healy, according to Greenberger, will serve as the acting legislative information officer.
