County Crime Summary Lists Four School Burglaries

Four school burglaries were reported in the Montgomery County police crime summary for June 12 to June 20. The schools hit were Jones Lane, Arcola, Ronald McNair elementary schools, and Montgomery Village Middle School.

Rockville:

A school burglary occurred at Jones Lane Elementary School at 15110 Jones Lane between about 12 a.m. June 16 and about 5:45 a.m. June 19. Forced entry; property was taken.

Bethesda:

Multiple thefts from vehicles occurred between June 12 and June 18. Affected streets included Carriage Court, Ashwood Drive, Arlington, Crestwood, Carriage, Woodfield and Old Georgetown roads, and West Virginia, Auburn, Connecticut and Woodmont avenues. Force was reported in six events, two vehicles were reported to have been left unlocked, unknown means of entry into the other vehicles; cash and property were taken.

Police seek a man who committed a residential burglary in the 6700 block of Barr Road about 2:15 p.m. June 20. No signs of forced entry, a door was reported to have been left unlocked; nothing was taken.

A 43-year-old Rockville woman was arrested in connection with a commercial strong-arm robbery occurred at Old Navy inside Westfield Montgomery mall at 7101 Democracy Blvd. about 4:55 p.m. June 15. The woman assaulted the adult male employee and stole merchandise.

Police seek eight teenagers, including three girls, for a commercial burglary at Westfield Montgomery mall at 7101 Democracy Blvd. in the early morning hours of June 21. The group vaulted the counters of several closed restaurants in the food court and stole merchandise.

A residential burglary occurred in the 10300 block of Riverwood Drive between about 12 p.m. June 14 and about 12 p.m. June 17. No signs of forced entry, a door was reported to have been left unlocked; property was taken.

Silver Spring:

An attempted commercial burglary occurred at the Veridian Market & Wine at 8010 Blair Mill Way in the early morning hours of June 17.

A commercial burglary occurred at The Bicycle Place at 9168 Brookville Road in the early morning hours of June 14. Forced entry; cash and property were taken.

Three women are sought for a strong-arm robbery in the area of Spring Street and 16th Street about 9:20 p.m. June 20. The suspects assaulted the adult female victim and took her property.

An attempted residential burglary occurred in the 800 block of Gregorio Drive about 10:34 p.m. June 18.

A vehicle theft occurred in the 9700 block of New Hampshire Avenue between about 5 p.m. June 12 and about 1 a.m. June 13. Unknown entry. The vehicle was recovered June 13.

Multiple thefts from vehicles occurred between June 14 and June 20. Affected streets included Oak Leaf and Arbor Hill drives, Mount Pisgah, Sidney and Avenel roads. Force was reported in multiple events, unknown means of entry into the other vehicles; property and vehicle parts were taken.

An attempted residential burglary occurred in the 11500 block of Lockwood Drive between about 7:10 a.m. and about 4:55 p.m. June 14.

A man is sought in connection with a residential garage burglary in the 12700 block of Bexley Terrace about 6 p.m. June 14. No signs of forced entry, the garage door was reported to have been left open; property was taken.

An attempted residential burglary occurred in the 13800 block of Castle Boulevard between about 10:30 a.m. and about 11:10 a.m. June 12.

A residential burglary occurred in the 3000 block of Piano Lane between about 6 a.m. and about 3 p.m. June 14. No signs of forced entry; property was taken.

Six males of unknown ages are sought for a strong-arm robbery in the area of Briggs Chaney and Fairland roads between about 11 a.m. and about 12 p.m. June 15. The group assaulted three juvenile male victims and took their property.

Two thefts from vehicles occurred between June 16 and June 20. One theft occurred in the 3300 block of Hampton Point Drive, and one theft occurred in the 3700 block of Lamberton Square Road. No force; vehicle parts were taken.

Wheaton:

Two thefts from vehicles occurred between about 8 p.m. June 14 and about 1 p.m. June 15. One theft occurred in the 2200 block of Greenery Lane and one theft occurred in the 12500 block of Winexburg Manor Drive. No force; vehicle parts were taken.

Four men of unknown ages are sought in connection with a residential burglary occurred in the 13200 block of Redspire Drive about 8:22 p.m. June 19. Forced entry; nothing was taken.

A commercial burglary occurred at the Verizon Store at 18130 Georgia Avenue between about 9 p.m. June 16 and about 7:50 a.m. June 17. No signs of forced entry; property was taken.

A 50-year-old woman is sought for an attempted commercial burglary at the Family New Life Ministries at 837 Olney Sandy Spring Road about 11:23 a.m. June 18.

A man is sought for a commercial armed robbery occurred at Envios Barrios at 13623 Georgia Avenue about 12:05 p.m. June 13. The man displayed a weapon and stole cash.

A residential burglary occurred in the 14100 block of Whispering Pines Court between about 8:30 a.m. and about 10 p.m. June 19. No signs of forced entry; property was taken.

A Silver Spring 16-year-old was arrested in connection with an aggravated assault in the 4400 block of Sigsbee Road about 9:34 p.m. June 14. The boy and five others, ranging in ages from 18 to 30, assaulted the adult male victim.

A 13-year-old boy was arrested in connection with a school burglary occurred at Arcola Elementary School at 1820 Franwall Ave. about 8 p.m. June 14. No signs of forced entry, a door was reported to have been left unlocked; property was taken.

A 15-year-old boy was arrested in connection with an attempted commercial burglary occurred at the Wheaton Park Beer & Wine at 12039 Georgia Ave. in the early morning hours of June 18.

A theft of a golf cart occurred in the area of Georgia Way and Georgian Woods Place about 12:55 p.m. June 19. The keys were reported to have been left in the ignition of the golf cart.

Four males, in their late teens, are sought in connection with an armed robbery in the 11100 block of Georgia Avenue about 9:52 p.m. June 14. One of the four displayed a weapon. The adult male victim’s property was stolen.

A theft from vehicle and a burglary of a residential garage occurred at the same home in the 10900 block of Pebble Run Drive in the early morning hours of June 15. The thief or thieves entered the victim’s vehicle (parked in the driveway) by unknown means and used the garage door opener inside the vehicle to open the garage door; nothing was taken.

Multiple thefts from vehicles occurred in the early morning hours of June 15. Affected streets included McMahon Road, Ladd Street, and Rocky Mount Way. No force, multiple vehicles were reported to have been left unlocked, unknown means of entry into the other vehicles; cash and property were taken.

A man is sought for a strong-arm robbery in the area of Georgia and Ennalls avenues about 10:50 p.m. June 19. The suspect assaulted the adult male victim and took his property.

Germantown:

A man is sought for an attempted residential burglary in the 11700 block of Tall Pines Drive in the early morning hours of June 15.

Multiple thefts from vehicles occurred during this reporting period. Affected streets included Appledowre Circle, Drumcastle and Warrior Brook courts, Applegrath, Cedarhurst, Porterfield and Aberstraw ways, Sunnyview and Sparkling Water drives, and Leaman Farm Road. Force was reported in four events, six vehicles were reported to have been left unlocked, unknown means of entry into the other vehicles; cash and property were taken.

A 33-year-old woman is sought for a strong-arm robbery in the 19900 block of Century Boulevard in the early morning hours of June 18. The suspect assaulted the adult female victim and took her property.

A school burglary occurred at Ronald McNair Elementary School at 13881 Hopkins Road about 3:45 p.m. June 17. Forced entry; nothing was taken.

Montgomery Village:

Three teenagers were arrested in connection with a school burglary occurred at Montgomery Village Middle School at 19300 Watkins Mill Road about 6:40 p.m. June 18. Forced entry; property was taken. The arrests were two 17-year-olds from Montgomery Village and an 18-year-old from Gaithersburg.

A residential burglary occurred in the 6700 block of Olde Mill Court between about 2 p.m. and about 5 p.m. June 14. Forced entry; property was taken.
