Swastika Found Drawn on Desk of Quince Orchard High School

Quince Orchard High School | Phil Fabrizio

A swastika was found drawn in pencil on a desk at Quince Orchard High School on Thursday, prompting a telephone message from the principal to the school’s parents.

Carol Working, the principal, said a teacher washed off the swastika as soon as it was discovered at the start of the day.

The student who drew the symbol was identified and would receive consequences spelled out in the Montgomery County Public Schools “Student Code of Conduct.” The handbook offers a range of penalties ranging from community service and peer mediation to long-term suspension and expulsion.
