1. Trone at business breakfast: David Trone, the founder of Total Wine & More, is scheduled to headline the sold-out Small Business Network breakfast at Montgomery Community Media’s studios. Trone is a likely political candidate in the 2018 elections. The topic for his talk is “Zero to $2 Billion: Entrepreneurship and Leadership.”
2. Council doings: The Montgomery County Council has a busy day lined up. It will put the wraps on the fiscal 2018 budget, vote on the Bethesda Downtown Plan and appoint a new member to the county Planning Board.
3. Get your nose on: Today is Red Nose Day, a charity that aims to wipe out child poverty.
4. Big trucks: Rockville holds its Public Works Equipment Show from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Rockville Swim and Fitness Center, 355 Martins Lane. Kids will be able to climb into the operator’s seat of some of the big trucks used by the City’s Department of Public Works. Free.
5. Annual meeting: The county’s Commission on Aging holds its annual meeting from 9 a.m. to noon, at the North Potomac Community Center, 13850 Travilah Road, Rockville.
