1. It’s International Women’s Day as well as “A Day Without a Woman.” Prince George’s County has closed schools, but Montgomery County Public Schools are open.
2. For International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month, distinguished social theorist Patricia Hill Collins presents “Black Feminism, Intersectionality and Building Democratic Communities” at 6:30 p.m. at the Cultural Arts Center, Montgomery College, Tacoma Park.
3. The Rockville Planning Commission meets at 7 p.m. The agenda includes a briefing on a proposed mixed-use development on 31.1 acres on the east side of Shady Grove Road between Gaither Road and Choke Cherry Road.
4. Councilmember Craig Rice, Montgomery College President DeRionne Pollard and Smith will hold another in their series of forums on county education funding. Tonight’s forum is at 6:30 p.m. at Montgomery Blair High School in Silver Spring.
