Gaithersburg Live Streams Fireworks Test Via Periscope on Twitter (VIDEO)
Some lucky Gaithersburg residents got a sneak peek at this year’s 4th of July fireworks show on Wednesday night.
That’s when a fireworks company tested seven shells from Bohrer Park, which is the new setting for this year’s holiday show.
There were screams of “whoa” and “holy moly” as the fireworks illuminated up the sky.
You may remember that in the past the city’s fireworks display was traditionally held at the Montgomery County fairgrounds.
As for the test demonstration on May 25th, it was live streamed via Periscope on Twitter (see below) and narrated by Gaithersburg’s Nick Smith who is the city’s digital and social media specialist.
According to Smith, it was the first time the city has used Periscope.
