1. The Montgomery County Council’s Transportation, Infrastructure, Energy and Environment Committee is meeting today at 9:30 a.m. On the agenda is the Tobytown Bus Service. The Government Operations and Fiscal Policy Committee and Education Committee are meeting as well to discuss budget items, view the agenda here.
2. The Montgomery Planning Board is hosting a conference “Makeover Montgomery 3” at the Silver Spring Civic Building today. The conference will feature presentations on innovations, policy tools, and strategies that can help develop suburbs. To view the agenda, visit the Planning Board’s website.
3. A discussion on International Migration will be hosted by the Foreign Policy Association at Potomac Library today at 12:30 p.m.
4. Jeanne Drewes, chief of the Binding and Collections Care Division at the Library of Congress, is scheduled to discuss Cuban art and culture at The Takoma Park Community Center auditorium tonight. Drewes will examine and discuss the independent Cuban publishing collective Ediciones Vigia.
5. The Second Annual “5 de Mayo Family Fiesta” is set to be held at Veterans Plaza in Silver Spring today starting at 7 p.m.
