Asian Pacific American Resource Fair Planned for May 22

Montgomery County will host a reception and resource fair to celebrate Asian Pacific American Heritage month on Sunday, May 22 in Rockville. The event will offer an opportunity for members of community to learn about various resources offered by the County. EOB Executive Office Building sign

The County’s Office of Community Partnerships and the Asian Pacific American Advisory Group both work to provide members of the community with an outlet to learn about free services that the County provides. Information on housing, seniors, health care, immigration and legal services will be available at the resource fair.

Diane Vu is the County’s Asian liaison and language access coordinator.

“The County takes pride in the fact that a significant number of Asian Pacific Americans are thriving in Montgomery County,” Vu said in a news release. “However, many community members and their families are still struggling to overcome linguistic and cultural barriers that inhibit access to various essential services.”

The event is free and open to the public and will take place from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Executive Office Building located on 101 Monroe Street. For more information, or to RSVP as a vendor, contact Diane Vu at diane.vu@montgomerycountymd.gov or 240.777.8320.
