Several Ride On bus routes are scheduled to change beginning Jan. 10.

According to a news release, 15 routes will be modified to more accurately reflect the time it takes for buses to run routes based on traffic and other conditions.

Routes 3, 8, 9, 14, 23, 32, 34, 38, 42, 45, 47, 53, 83, 97, and 98 will have new timetables.

The news release also states that some routes will have major route changes.

Routes 14 and 45 will change due to the change in Montgomery County Public Schools start times. One trip on the schedule has changed to accommodate students.

Routes 42, 83, and route 98 service has been reduced to “help close the County’s significant budget shortfall this fiscal year,” the news release states. Route 42 will eliminate weekday service after 8 p.m., provide service from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and eliminate Sunday service.

Weekday services for route 83 remain the same, while Saturday service will run from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday service is eliminated.

Route 98 will eliminate weekday service after 8 p.m., provide Saturday service from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., and eliminate Sunday service. Route 98 will also add one trip to accommodate the new MCPS start times.
