Rally Against Gun Violence Planned for Sunday (PHOTO)

A rally against recent gun violence will be held Sunday, December 20th from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Old Grey Courthouse located at 27 Courthouse Square in Rockville.

Speakers at the event will include Executive Ike Leggett, Congressman Chris Van Hollen, Police Chief Tom Manger, Robert Disney from the Brady Campaign Against Gun Violence and Cathy Mitchell, a county resident and mother of a victim of gun violence . There will be music and the rally will conclude with the lighting of hundreds of candles. rally_to_end_gun_violence[1]

Rockville Mayor Bridget Newton released the following statement in a news release, “Enough really is enough, we all ought to take one hour out of our busy holiday schedules to take a stand against gun violence.”

The rally is sponsored by various groups including, Executive Ike Leggett, the City of Rockville, the Montgomery County Council, and the Brady Campaign Against Gun Violence.
