Spring Rebuilding Day Weekend is April 28/29th, 2012, during which time RTMC will work on nearly 30 houses around our county. Teams adopt a house to make these life-saving repairs.

Rebuilding Together Provides Home Repairs for Residents with Limited Income

Rebuilding Together Montgomery County (RTMC) is a Gaithersburg nonprofit that works in partnership with community volunteers to help low-income homeowners remain safely and independently in their homes. RTMC provides free home repairs to county residents with limited incomes through four programs including RTMC’s National Rebuilding Day Program, Volunteer Handyman Program, Energy Efficiency Program, and Critical Needs Program.

Applicants for RTMC services must be Montgomery County homeowners and meet income requirements. The maximum income for one individual is $35,190. This figure increases by about $4,000-5,000 for each additional person residing in the home.

Homeowners apply for services by completing an application and providing income verification. Following a visit to the home, RTMC determines if the homeowner is eligible for services. Projects requiring a great deal of work usually receive help during a spring or fall work weekend. Some repairs may be addressed year round. Although RTMC accepts applications at any time, an application must be received by February 10 to receive consideration for the National Rebuilding Day Program.
