Traffic Delays on Route 355 at Richard Montgomery Drive (PHOTOS)

Contractors are working to replace a light pole and a traffic light that were knocked down by a collision at the intersection of Route 355 and Richard Montgomery Drive in Rockville on July 23rd.

Rockville City Spokesperson Mary Lou Berg says Rockville crews were at the scene assessing damage to the city’s light pole.

She said it was her understanding that the collision occurred during repaving work on Route 355.

Traffic in the area was slowed as contractors went to work.

Update: Richard Montgomery Dr. remains closed at 355. Rt. 355:1 lane S/B&N/B are open. Utility work after earlier collision. Expect delays.

Due to downed utility pole, several lanes closed on Rockville Pike at Richard Montgomery Dr, w/1 lane getting by in each direction.
