Deck Fire Displaces Two Clarksburg Families (PHOTOS)
A two-alarm fire at a four-level townhouse in Clarksburg has displaced two families and caused an estimated $500,000 in damages, according to a county fire spokesperson.
Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services Spokesperson Pete Piringer said 100 firefighters responded to the blaze at 22187 Fair Garden Lane on Sunday evening.
Piringer said smoke alarms alerted residents to the blaze and they safety evacuated their homes without injury.
According to Piringer, flames were showing when the first units pulled up to the scene. Piringer said the fire started on the deck.
Piringer said the blaze appears to have been ignited by “discarded smoking materials.”
