County Council Recognizes Bicycle Safety Month (PHOTOS)

The need for drivers and bicyclists to work at sharing the road safely was among the themes on May 12 as the Montgomery County Council recognized Bicycle Safety Month.

The ceremonies also saluted the Washington Area Bicyclist Association, which has more than 1,000 members and works to promote biking for fun, fitness and affordable transportation.

At the ceremonies Councilmembers Hans Riemer, Nancy Floreen and Roger Berliner; Greg Billing of the Washington Area Bicycle Club; Joe Allen, founder of Bike Gaithersburg; and Pat Shepard and Sogand Seirafi of the Department of Transportation.
