Police Investigate Fatal Collision in Spencerville
UPDATED Montgomery County Police are investigating a fatal collision that occurred shortly before 5 p.m. on April 6 on Spencerville Road just west of Peach Orchard Road in Spencerville.
Police said the collision involved a motorcycle and large truck designed for hauling refuse. According to police, arriving units confirmed that the motorcyclist involved in the collision died from his injuries at the scene.
Police identified the motorcyclist as Toure Philip Kelley, 26 years old, of Spencerville.
According to the police department’s preliminary investigation, Kelley was riding a motorized dirt bike in the yard at 2301 Spencerville Road. For reasons still under investigation, police said the motorcycle left the yard and entered the roadway. According to police, that’s when the motorcycle struck the rear passenger side of the truck which was traveling eastbound on Spencerville Road. Police said the operator of the motorcycle was not wearing a helmet.
