Franchot May Call For Executive Order If School After Labor Day Bill Does Not Pass Legislatively
In this MyMCMedia Extra, Maryland Comptroller Peter Franchot says it is “unclear” what is going to happen legislatively to his “Let Summer Be Summer” petition.
“If it doesn’t pass legislatively, maybe I’ll have a conversation with Governor Hogan about doing it through executive order,” Franchot said.
This is such a waste of an effort – school year is the SAME length regardless of when it starts and when it ends therefore there is no such thing as a “FULL SUMMER”. Scheduling for families is certainly NOT “discombobulated”. 72% of public – who? They probably think that they would be getting a longer summer. This just shows there is Ocean City $ lining someone’s pocket!
