Police Charge Germantown Teen with Attempted Murder

Montgomery County Police have charged a 15-year-old Germantown resident with one count of attempted first degree murder and one count of first degree assault. Police said the teen is being charged as an adult.

Police said officers responded on March 9, at 11:14 a.m., to the report of a shooting that had occurred on Crystal Rock Drive in Germantown. According to police, they were unable to locate a victim or evidence of a shooting but interviewed witnesses who heard gunshots.

On March 10, police said a middle school student was arrested for possessing a knife on school property. Police said circumstances surrounding that arrest provided investigators with information that a 16-year-old had been shot at during the March 9 incident. According to a police account, detectives were able to identify both the suspect and the victim.

Police said they arrested the teen on Friday morning. According to police, they have not recovered the firearm.

A bond review for the teen suspect in this case has been set for 1 p.m. on March 16.
