Victoria Vox to Perform at BlackRock (VIDEO)

Singer songwriter Victoria Vox and Unified Jazz Ensemble (UJE) present an evening of jazz standards and original compositions Saturday, Jan. 24 at 8 p.m. at the BlackRock Center for the Arts in Germantown. Baltimore based Vox is widely renowned for her work on the ukulele. Tickets are $22 and may be purchased at BlackRock Center for the Arts website or by phone at 240.912.1058. BlackRock is located at 12901 Town Commons Drive, Germantown near the intersection of Middlebrook Rd. and Route 118.

The Unified Jazz Ensemble, based in Annapolis, is dedicated to bringing the best of jazz to audiences of all ages. The group was founded in 1992, and has performed across the United States and internationally. Inspired by Cyndi Lauper, Patti Griffin, and The Cranberries, Ms. Vox has performed all over the globe for the last ten years. Her endearing vocals and seemingly simple, but rather smart songs have been played on NPR, featured on A&E television shows, won her first place at the International Acoustic Music Awards, six Wammie awards, the “Vox Pop” award for Adult Contemporary Album of the Year in the 10th Annual Independent Music Awards, and landed her a segment on the Jay Leno Show.
