Dusty Rood Named President of Rodgers Consulting

Dusty Rood Rodgers ConsultingRodgers Consulting, Inc., one of suburban Maryland’s top land use planning and consulting firms, has announced the appointment of Dusty Rood as its company president, succeeding long-time president and CEO Mark E. Friis. Friis will remain CEO. The company’s continuing commitment to client success and leadership succession prompted the division of roles.

Rood will join Friis at the helm of the company, with Friis continuing to focus on development entitlements. Rodgers’ leadership team includes partners Frank Bossong and Gary Unterberg, who remain integral to the firm’s leadership and execution of its mission. Rodgers Consulting is very active throughout the highly regulated jurisdictions of Maryland, providing a wide range of services to accommodate the complexities of development and regulation that characterize growth throughout these areas.

During his 15 years at Rodgers Consulting, Rood served as vice president and director of environmental consulting, a critical post at the firm. Rood is well-known and highly regarded for his leadership and expertise on environmental issues, and has earned recognition for his contributions. He is a past recipient of the Maryland-National Capital Building Industry Association’s President’s award, which recognized him for his “dedicated and tireless service
and oversight of green building and environmental issues that are a priority for the real estate industry.”

“We are fortunate to have had Dusty Rood’s expertise, passion and experience at Rodgers for the past 15 years,” said Friis. “This change is a planned and deliberate succession that closely aligns our roles and skills to our clients’ needs and goals and positions the firms for continued success into the future. I am confident the time is right and Dusty is the best person to guide our staff and lead the firm in fulfillment of its mission.”
