6th Annual Silver Spring Zombie Walk Set for Oct. 25

Once again, the streets of Silver Spring will be taken over by the undead for the 6th Annual Silver Spring Zombie Walk. Several thousand participants are expected to join in Saturday, Oct. 25 on a walk from the intersection of Sligo and Georgia Avenues to the AFI Silver Theatre. The event features a social hour from 7 to 8 p.m. at Jackie’s Sidebar on Sligo Ave, followed by the walk to AFI Silver Theatre for a screening of Dead Snow 2.

According to the event organizers, last year’s Zombie Walk featured undead of the classic-traditional style along with more post-modern zombie’s based on pop culture (e.g. – Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, The Shining).

Expect the following road closures:

• Selim Road will be closed from 7-9 p.m. for zombies to gather before the walk.
• Sligo Avenue will be closed from Georgia to Mayor’s Lane from 9-10 p.m. for the beginning of the walk.
