Rockville City Leaders to Discuss Mansionization on Oct. 20

Rockville City HallThe Rockville Mayor and Council are scheduled to discuss “mansionization,” the impact of building or remodeling houses that are much larger than homes in the surrounding neighborhood, at their regularly scheduled meeting on Oct. 20.

Other important Mayor and Council agenda items over the next two months include:

• Public hearings and work sessions on the draft “Rockville’s Pike Plan” on Oct. 27, Nov. 17 and Dec. 8. A walking town meeting will be held on Saturday, Nov. 1. For more information, visit www.rockvillemd.gov/rockvillespike.
• Continued discussion of the City’s utility rates. A public hearing on water and sewer rates is scheduled for Nov. 10, with a discussion of the rates and rate structure on Nov. 24.
• A town hall meeting about the City’s animal control ordinance, hosted by Councilmember Julie Palakovich Carr, on Tuesday, Oct. 21 at 7:30 p.m. in the Black-Eyed Susan conference room at City Hall, 111 Maryland Ave.
• A preview of the FY16 budget on Nov. 17.
• The annual presentation of the City’s Good Neighbor Awards on Oct. 20.
• A proclamation marking the kickoff of the City’s 2014 Holiday Drive on Oct. 27.

Rockville’s Mayor and Council meet at 7 p.m. Mondays in the Mayor and Council Chambers at City Hall, 111 Maryland Ave.
