Sign Up to Take AARP Smart Driver Course at Davis Library (Video)
The American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) Smart Driver course will be presented at the Davis Library on Tuesday, September 9 from 2 to 6 p.m. The library is located at 6400 Democracy Blvd, Bethesda.
Participants will have an opportunity to tune up driving skills, learn safe driving strategies and update knowledge of the rules of the road. The instructor will provide information about normal age-related physical changes and how to adjust driving to allow for these changes. Each student completing the class will receive a certificate. Some insurance companies operating in Maryland consider drivers who take the course qualified for reduced or discounted premiums.
Space is limited and registration is required. Register online at http://www.montgomerycountymd.gov/library/branches/davis.html. The fee is $15 for AARP members and $20 for non-members. Fee will be collected at the class. AARP members should bring their membership cards, and each student should bring a check payable to AARP and a pen to class.
To request a sign language interpreter, email Montgomery County Public Libraries at DeafAccess@montgomerycountymd.gov, preferably with at least three business days notice.
For more information, or to receive assistance from staff to register, call the library at 240.777.0922
