Poolesville Day Set for Sept. 20, Sponsor and Parade Applications Available Now
The Town of Poolesville will host its 22nd Annual Poolesville Day celebration on Saturday, September 20, with an event that features a wide variety of activities for the whole family, including a parade, a 5K race, more than 100 food and art vendor booths, and live entertainment. The event will take place in Whalen Commons, located at 19701 Fisher Avenue in Poolesville.
Poolesville Day has historically attracted approximately 10,000 attendees from all over Montgomery County and the greater Washington, D.C. area. The event, which is held rain or shine and runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., begins at 10 a.m. with the Hometown Poolesville Parade. A 5K run sponsored by the Poolesville Area Chamber of Commerce precedes the event. More than 100 artisans, exhibitors, service and food vendors are expected to be supporting Poolesville Day.
Live entertainment will be presented on four stages by a variety of local musicians, dancers, and community and school groups, headlined by The Morrison Brothers Band. Another highlight of the day will be the Classic Car, Rod, Truck and Motorcycle Show, held from noon to 3:15 p.m. Children can enjoy a wide range of activities, including amusement rides, moon bounce, pony rides, face painting, skate contest and more.
“Poolesville Day is our biggest community event of the year and it is a great time each year for our town to shine and showcase the pride we have in our town,” said Jim Brown, President of the Poolesville Town Commission. “So many of our community members have put hours and hours of work into making this event a success and we look forward to welcoming a record-breaking crowd again this year to enjoy the best of Poolesville.”
The Poolesville Day Committee is currently seeking sponsors for the annual event and applications for Exhibitor (vendor) booths are being accepted until August 20.
