Smashburger Opens in Downtown Crown (PHOTOS)

UPDATED Smashburger opened its newest location in Downtown Crown at 200 Ellington Boulevard in Gaithersburg this week.

A national franchise that markets the “better burger,” the restaurant has other Montgomery County locations on Cordell Avenue in Bethesda and at Seneca Meadows Parkway in Germantown.

Smashburger is known for serving burgers “smashed” to sear in their juices. The Denver-based restaurant chain is also known for its hand-spun milkshakes made with Häagen-Dazs ice cream and gluten-free hamburger buns, as well as pairing its menu offerings with local craft beers.

In the coming months, Downtown Crown will also welcome Coastal Flats, Old Town Pour House, Paladar Latin Kitchen and Rum Bar, Ruth’s Chris and Ted’s Bulletin.
