Kick off summer with Rockville’s Annual Hometown Holidays May 24 and 25. The street festival features 30 bands playing on five stages, children’s activities including rides and a chance to enjoy food from local restaurants. Visit Bohrer Park in Gaithersburg to honor local heroes at the Montgomery Village Rotary Club’s Flags for our Local Heroes opening ceremony May 24 at 11 a.m.

- The Puppet Co. presents Pinocchio at 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. in Glen Echo Park
- Bohrer Water Park opens for the season at noon in Gaithersburg.
- Cinderella The Remix continues at Imagination Stage in Bethesda with performances at 11 a.m., 1:30 and 4 p.m.
- Enjoy Hometown Holidays in Rockville from 2 to 10 p.m. Over 30 bands performing on five stages, children s activities and food sampling at Taste of Rockville will entertain the whole family.
- Olney Theatre presents The Piano Lesson at 1:45 and 7:45 p.m.
- The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra with conductor Hans Graf and violinist Ray Chen perform Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto at the Music Center at Strathmore at 8 p.m.
