SEIU Local 500 Endorces Leggett

SEIU Local 500 is endorsing incumbent Ike Leggett for the office of county executive in the June 24 Democratic primary. The union represents 12,000 healthcare, property service and public service employees in Montgomery County.

“SEIU Local 500, which represents 12,000 workers in Montgomery County and about 25,000 total in the Washington region, announced Wednesday it is endorsing incumbent Ike Leggett for a third term as county executive in the June Democratic primary.”

” …among a majority of those involved in the SEIU endorsement process, there was reported to be a more benevolent view of Leggett’s treatment of its membership while he faced the challenge of guiding the county through the recent recession.”
