Green Up Day (PHOTOS)

Nearly two dozen residents of all ages took part in the Quince Orchard Park (QOP) community “Green Up Day” from 9 a.m. to noon on April 5 in the city of Gaithersburg.

Organizers report that QOP volunteers picked up enough garbage to fill 18 trash bags and five additional bags full of recyclables.

“Green Up Day” is an annual event in the city of Gaithersburg that kicks off Green Week.

Various Gaithersburg neighborhoods participated in this year’s event and what a difference these volunteers make in their communities and for the area’s streams and watershed.
